'Welcome! Ainslee Rose' - Butterfly Easel Birth Card

May your father and mother rejoice;
may she who gave you BIRTH be joyful!
Proverbs 23 : 25

Welcome to the LAST Digi Desserts Fridaze in connection with My Paper Crafting  for the summer!    We, on the Design Team, are to create a project using a Digital File from the vast selection at MyPaperCrafting.com every Friday, share them with You and encourage You to visit over there, get the FREE Digi File for today, make a project with it and link it for all to see.  Melin has changed things for the summer months, so check on her site to see what’s going on - but this will be the last one of these for a while.  See below and on her site for info as to when we will be posting more Design Team items.

For this week’s project I made a card to send to my Nephew and Niece – to welcome their baby that was born on Wednesday!  She, Ainslee Rose, joins a ‘big brother (4) and sister (2)’ and they are all excited to have her!  They are in MI, so I’ve no idea when I’ll see any of them, but I’m Very Grateful to FB for allowing me to ‘keep tabs on all my Dear Families’ all over America!

Here it is – with notes to follow –

I chose Melin’s ‘Butterfly Shaped Card cf’ for the base and cut several layers from white cardstock and inked all edges in mauve-pink to match the printed layer that I also cut.  The pinks are actually much softer than they look in the photos - a very pale mauve-pink.  I designed my own version of an Easel Card, as I went along, so that all of the elements I wanted to include would all fit and work together.

I adhered only the ‘body’ of the flourished butterfly to the front piece, so that the wings were ’free to float.’  I used tiny pink Roses as the body.  I adhered a few tiny pearls to the wings.

I printed the Vintage File of the ‘Angel Looking  Down vg(This week’s FREE file at MPC)  – which I thought was appropriate to include for this tiny newborn ‘angel.’  I used the Coolwash file and then played with the color settings in PSE 10 to get it to be a bit pinkish to go with the print paper and roses.  I used a Spellbinders die to cut the top and bottom of it – and a print paper to mount it on.  I adhered them as the ‘prop’ with foam pads.

I printed the inside sentiment in my PSE 10 program and tried to print in a color to match the print paper.  It took several tries and finally decided this was ‘close enough,’ although not exact.  I ripped and inked the edges of the sentiment and adhered it to the bottom layer – under the ‘prop’ layer.  I decided to print the Verse that I had found – after taking the initial photos – and mount it on the inside of the card – above the sentiment.  I took more photos and have now included it here.

Before I included the Verse -
The Verse is included -
I will make a ‘box envelope’ in which to place it for mailing, so it doesn’t get squashed.   (I decided to make one today and have included the photo of it here now…  It is in ‘my Signature Colors.')

I’m excited to let them know of my excitement for them!  The birth of a child is the Most Wondrous thing!!

Here are the files I used –
