You now have COPPER, but I will bring
you gold.
You now have iron, but I will bring you silver.
I will change your wood into COPPER and your rocks into iron.
I will change your punishment into peace.
And those who punished you will be replaced with those who are kind to you.
You now have iron, but I will bring you silver.
I will change your wood into COPPER and your rocks into iron.
I will change your punishment into peace.
And those who punished you will be replaced with those who are kind to you.

Hello and Welcome to the Terrific
Tuesday Challenge in conjunction with MyPaper Crafting ! There are
lots of wonderfully creative ideas on that blog, great Cutting and Digital
files and links to the other Design Team members’ blogs. I’m really enjoying my time there on
the Design Team and am happy to have you visit my blog!
Our Challenge this week was to make a project using Copper
in some way. When shopping for something
else recently, I happened to see a bag of Copper-colored glass pebbles and I
decided to incorporate them into this week’s project…somehow! In keeping with my love of Re-purposing
items – and ‘creating Beauty from Ashes’ – I used some ‘lowly’ items to make a
lovely holiday gift for some unsuspecting recipient.
I used the ‘Flourished Baroque Elements cf2’ cutting file
from PaperCraftWorld.com -
Here are photos of the finished project – with information
and more photos to follow. I made
a Candle and/or Candy Dish on a pedestal.

Sometimes I get a picture in my head of how I expect things
to turn out… Sometimes, they work
out and turn out easily and well…sometimes there are challenges I hadn’t
expected and I’m not sure when I’m finished if it’s ‘OK.’ This was THAT kind of a project…
I began with an unusual shaped empty food jar, a
candlestick from the $$Store and some Copper pebbles from the floral section of
the craft store. (I didn’t take a
photo of the jar before I began and this is an extra candlestick and the
remainder of the pebbles.)
I agonized over what paper to make the cutting file from and
finally decided to use Vellum. By
adhering the 2 Vellum cut files to the jar (front and back) with my ‘HomemadeModPodge,’
it looks as if the glass was etched! It also makes an
interesting pattern on the wall when lit with a candle.
I knew how I basically wanted to place the pebbles. I did learn (the hard way) that Some of
the Copper pebbles were sprayed on the top – and Some on the bottom…! 8-[ I hadn’t
realized it when I began adhering them…
I made sure they were all sprayed On Top. So be sure to check them as you adhere them for a project
like this and use the ones sprayed On Top, so the color shows, but not the glue
underneath. I adhered them with my
glue gun. I attached the jar to the candlestick with 2 adhesives: 2000 Nails and then my glue gun. I had Copper acrylic
paint in my stash and I painted the lid before I adhered the pebbles. I added a bow made with 2 different
shades of Copper ribbon.
Now YOU make a project with this Theme, link it at My PaperCrafting and share it with all of us!
