Post-it Note and Mini Pad Covers

Yet He took NOTE of their distress
when He heard their cry –
Psalm 106 : 44

My dear brothers and sisters, take NOTE of this:
everyone should be quick to listen,
slow to speak and slow to become angry…
James 1 : 19

Welcome to Digi Desserts Fridaze in connection with My Paper Crafting !    We, on the Design Team, are to create a project using a Digital File from the vast selection at MyPaperCrafting.com every Friday, share them with You and encourage You to visit over there, get the FREE Digi File for today, make a project with it and link it for all to see.  Melin has changed things for the summer months, so check on her site to see what’s going on -

For this week’s project I made 2 items.  One is a Post-it Cover and the other is a Mini Pad Cover.  Quite often, one needs ‘just a little something’ Gift for someone – a quick ‘Thank You’ or ‘Thinking of You’ or …???  I have made several of these in many colors and they have been received well.  The original pattern is for the Post-it size and I just enlarged it to fit the Mini Pad.  I show them with a regular size pen, but often one can find shortened pens, which are cuter to use with these.

I used Melin’s ‘Baby’s Breath vg’ on the Post-it Cover.

I used her ‘Spring Bunch vg’ on the Mini Pad Cover.

After printing the Digis, I chose pads, paper and ink colors which coordinated with each of them. I framed each Digi with a Spellbinders die cut frame, of which I inked the edges.

Here are the files I used –

'Sending you some Puppy Love' Card

I am SENDING him to you for this very purpose,
to let you know how we are,
 and to encourage your hearts.
Ephesians 6 : 22

Welcome to Digi Desserts Fridaze in connection with My Paper Crafting !    We, on the Design Team, are to create a project using a Digital File from the vast selection at MyPaperCrafting.com every Friday, share them with You and encourage You to visit over there, get the FREE Digi File for today, make a project with it and link it for all to see.  The ‘winning’ designer is highlighted next week as a Guest Designer!   It’s an easy and fun thing to do on the weekend!

For this week’s project I made a Card of Love and Encouragement for a Special Someone in my life who loves dogs, using the Free File offered recently on the ‘TotallyTags and ATCs’ post on MyPaperCrafting – ‘Puppies in Basket VG.’  There are usually Vintage Digi Files offered on Thursdays and I just LOVE using them on my projects and giving them ‘An Elegant Touch…’!  There are usually several ‘color options’ in each file, allowing for a vast amount of creativity along that line and sometimes I also put them in my FREE “Perfect Effects Free” program which offers even more color shading availability.  This time I used one that Melin offered in several colors.  I put the ‘original’ color in my Perfect Effects Free program and added the ‘Blue Dawn’ action to it, which made the puppies in browns and the flowers in light lavender with hunter green accents.

I used white cardstock for the Card.  I printed the Digi on photo paper and ripped around the edges.  I cut a piece of green/white tiny polka-dot paper, distressed and curled the edges and adhered it to the card front.  I ripped around the edges of a scrap of woodgrain paper that I’d scanned and printed and then cut a Cross from it for a card back in March.  (Easter Stained Glass and Cross Card)   I fit the Digi into the crook of it and adhered that to the green.

I typed the sentiment in my PSE 10 program, printed it in brown on white/green tiny polka-dot paper and cut it into a tiny banner.  I adhered it with a foam pop-dot-type piece to keep it raised.

I made a floral spray of brown gingham leaves, green branches and tiny lavender blossoms to ‘mirror’ the flowers in the Digi.

'Flowers in Vase' All-Occasion Card

The grass withers, the FLOWER fades;
nothing lasts except the word of our God.
It will stand forever.
Isaiah 40 : 8

For this week’s project I used the Free File offered last week on the TotallyTags and ATCs post on MyPaperCrafting.  There are usually Vintage Digi Files offered on Thursdays and I just LOVE using them on my projects and giving them ‘An Elegant Touch…’!  There are usually several ‘color options’ in each file, allowing for a vast amount of creativity along that line and sometimes I also put them in my FREE “Perfect Effects Free” program which offers even more color shading availability.  This time I used one that Melin had offered – in which she changed the original bright colors to a ‘coolwash’ and subdued jewel tones.

I first printed the Digi on white cardstock and although it gave it a soft muted effect, I decided to print it on photo paper and see if it made any difference.  It did.  It is much clearer and brighter and I decided to use that print on this card and use bright jewel-toned papers with it.  (I’ll use the ‘muted’ one for another project I have in mind sometime.)  I used an Oval Coluzzle to cut the Digi and a frame of deep purple cardstock to mirror the flower color.  I adhered that to a piece of mottled gold which highlights the flower centers.  I then adhered the deep olive green ‘negative’ of a frame file that I had used for the ‘Spring Bunch Easel Card’ recently.  I cut a piece of black cardstock – punched the edges with a Lace punch – in keeping with this week’s Theme on the MPC blog posts – and mounted the other layers on that.  I then adhered all of that on a white cardstock card.  I then added a black satin Double Bow and some tiny pearls to the card.  I did not add a sentiment so that it might be used for any number of occasions.  I might add an inside sentiment – or just include a handwritten note when I give it.

'Pearlized' Roses Card

I am the ROSE of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys.
Song of Solomon 2 : 1

Welcome to Digi Desserts Fridaze in connection with My Paper Crafting !    We, on the Design Team, are to create a project using a Digital File from the vast selection at MyPaperCrafting.com every Friday, share them with You and encourage You to visit over there, get the FREE Digi File for today, make a project with it and link it for all to see.  The ‘winning’ designer is highlighted next week as a Guest Designer!   It’s an easy and fun thing to do on the weekend!

For this week’s project I have made a card using the ‘Roses Double ds’.  Here is my card –

*  I put the original file into my Free program, ‘Perfect Effects Free,’ and did a couple of Actions on it.  I changed the color first in Sepia Toner - (making it in Grays and Browns) -

-  and then changed the ‘texture-look’ of the Digi with another Action - Earth - (giving  it a mottled look) -

*   Easy!  I printed it on white cardstock and fussy-cut out the Digi.  I hand embossed it on the back side, following the lines from the front and inked the edges with Charcoal ink.
(You can see several other options I did in this previous post -

*  Using an Oval-nested Coluzzle, I cut an oval from a piece of light Gray cardstock.  I embossed it in a 4-cornered design folder.  I gently inked over the raised areas with Charcoal ink.

*  I cut an oval from medium Brown cardstock and adhered in under the Gray oval.

*  I adhered the Gray cardstock to a Kraft cardstock card, raising it up with PopDots at various places.  I adhered the Roses with PopDots, also, giving the card dimension and depth.  The card folds at the top, so it could stand on its own.

*  I added Pearl Gems to the ‘dots’ on all 4 sides and Brown Gems to the centers of the Roses.

*  I didn’t add a Sentiment, so it could be used for a variety of occasions, but one could be added in the bottom left corner.

Here is the original file I used –

2013 Calendar Mini-Album

Teach us to number our days
so that we may truly live and achieve wisdom.
Psalm 90 : 12

Welcome to Digi Desserts Fridaze in connection with My Paper Crafting !    We, on the Design Team, are to create a project using a Digital File from the vast selection at MyPaperCrafting.com every Friday, share them with You and encourage You to visit over there, get the FREE Digi File for today, make a project with it and link it for all to see.  The ‘winning’ designer is highlighted next week as a Guest Designer!   It’s an easy and fun thing to do on the weekend!

For this week’s project I have made a Mini-Album, which can be adjusted for any Theme of your choosing!  I have been working on this one – in between many other things! – since December, when Melin offered the Calendar Pages during the 25 Days of Christmas on her site.  I have planned, plotted, designed, created and finally finished it this week.  Although I had originally planned to have it done by the first of the New Year, I decidedly determined to continue on, as the Calendar Inserts can be changed for each of the future years and the Album can be used year after year.  It can also be made to be used for any other Theme which you might choose to do.  It’s easy to make the pages and you can decorate as you like!

Here is my Mini-Album –  with more information as to what I used to follow -

*  I learned how to make these pages – from 12 x 12 “ sheets of paper or cardstock, a few folds, some adhesive and a hole punch – from Anna Fearer at MorePaperThanShoes.com.  She has a video showing how she makes them HERE.  You can make as many as you choose for your Mini-Album.  I chose to use three shades of a set of papers – in mauve, light green and peach – with two different patterns and they are two-sided with the plain color on the reverse side.

*  I made a front and back cover from a Snack Bar box, covering them with a coordinating stripe paper and white on the inside.  I decorated the front with  1.)  white tissue paper strips, folded in half and then pleated and then  2.)  I covered the edge with a lace-punched border and added Faux-stitching with a brown colored pencil.   3.)  I printed the verse on Vellum and added the brass square 'faux-brads.'  I wanted the paper to show through…

*  I added scraps of coordinating ribbon and trims to the metal ring fasteners that go through the three holes I punched in each page.

*  I added punched Tabs to each page with the Months written on each side. Each double page also makes a pocket, so I included various-sized cards in the pockets for Journaling, Photos or other Mementos to be included throughout the year.  I punched the top corners.

*  I reinforced the hole-punched edge by adhering a piece of folded white cardstock to each page section and then inked the edges with coordinating colored inks.

*  I sized and printed an MPC Vintage Digi file for each month in the coordinating colors for the page.  I added an appropriate trim to the ‘V’ section of each page and other embellishments, along with Faux-stitching where appropriate.

January:  ‘Day 22/2012 - New Year vg’

February:  ‘Day 4/2012 – Purple Heart vg’ (and 'I Heart U Title cf' )

March:  ‘Day 6/2012 – Cross Purple vg’

April:  2011 – ‘White Flowers in Basket vg’

May:  Day 9/2012 – ‘Lilacs in Basket vg’

June:  ‘Roses in Wheel Barrel (Barrow) vg’

July :  Day 11/2012 – ‘Flag-flame vg’

August:  Day 14/2012 – Angels-shell vg’

September:  ‘Boot in Skate vg’

October:  Day 18/2012 – ‘Copper Kids ‘n’ Pumpkins vg’

November:  ‘pcw Girl feeding Turkey vg’

December: Day 21/2012 – ‘Holly ‘n’ Bells vg’

I thoroughly enjoyed making this Mini-Album and using the lovely Vintage Digis that Melin has offered the past two Holiday Seasons!  Be sure to visit her and sign up for her blog and Newsletters, join us on the Blog Hops at various times of the year and check there weekly to see what’s offered in her Store!  She offers Amazing Digi and Cutting Files and I’m SURE that you will find lovely items to enhance your paper-crafting projects!  As always, please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about what or how I have done on here -  Happy Crafting!  ;-}
